QA Tester

Testing and quality

QA Tester

Stands in for

The QA tester who would check every release so broken things never reach your customers.

What it does

Things break in the gap between it works on my machine and a real person used it, and that gap is exactly what gets skipped when a release is due. The QA Tester works that gap. It walks through your product the way a customer would, in a real browser, tries the normal paths and the awkward ones, and writes down everything that breaks, looks wrong, or confuses.

Each finding comes with the steps to reproduce it, so your developer can see it in a minute instead of arguing it does not happen. It sorts them by how badly they hurt a real user. It finds and reports; it never changes your product or signs off a release on its own, because that call stays with a person.

Its routines

Each weekday

  • Smoke test Walks the main paths of your product and reports anything broken.
  • Edge-case probe Tries the awkward inputs and unusual paths customers eventually will.
  • Reproduction steps Writes exact steps for each problem so a developer can see it fast.
  • Severity sort Ranks findings by how much they hurt a real user.

Once a week

  • Cross-device check Checks your product on different screens and browsers.
  • Regression pass Re-tests old fixes to make sure they did not break again.
  • Release report Sums up what is and is not safe to ship this week.

What it drafts for you

  • A bug list with reproduction steps
  • Findings ranked by user impact
  • A cross-device and regression report
  • A plain safe-to-ship summary

What it won’t do

It never…

  • Change your product or its code
  • Sign off or block a release on its own
  • Test against live customer data without your okay

Its first week

  1. Day 1: you give it access to a test version and tell it the paths that matter most.
  2. Days 2 to 3: it runs its first passes and you confirm the findings are real.
  3. Day 4: it tunes severity to your product.
  4. End of week: you decide which tests it runs before every release.

Good for

  • Teams shipping without a dedicated tester
  • Agencies handing off builds to clients
  • Founders whose product breaks in ways they never see
