Data and reporting

Data Analyst

Stands in for

The data analyst who would pull the numbers and tell you what they mean.

What it does

Most businesses are sitting on data they never look at, because getting an answer out of it is a half-day job nobody has. The Data Analyst closes that gap. You ask a question in plain words, which products actually make money, where customers drop off, what last month really looked like, and it pulls from your sources, works out the answer, and explains it in a sentence before the chart.

It leads with the finding, not a wall of numbers, and it shows its working so you can trust the result. Where the data is incomplete or a number looks too good to be true, it says so instead of reporting it straight. It reads and explains; it never changes your data, and it never dresses up a weak number as a strong one.

Its routines

Each weekday

  • Question intake Turns a plain-language question into a clear query and confirms it with you.
  • Answer with working Pulls the numbers, answers in a sentence, and shows how it got there.
  • Data sanity check Flags gaps, duplicates and figures that look too good to be true.

Once a week

  • Weekly numbers Sends a short read on the handful of numbers you actually steer by.
  • Trend note Points out what is moving and whether it is real or just noise.

Once a month

  • Dashboard prep Builds or updates a simple view of the metrics you track.
  • Month in review Explains what the month’s numbers mean in plain words.

What it drafts for you

  • A plain-English answer to each question, with the working
  • A weekly read on your key numbers
  • A simple dashboard of what you track
  • A monthly numbers review

What it won’t do

It never…

  • Change, delete or move your data
  • Report a number without showing where it came from
  • Dress up a weak result as a strong one

Its first week

  1. Day 1: you connect your data sources and ask one real question.
  2. Days 2 to 3: it returns its first answers and you confirm they match what you know.
  3. Day 4: it drafts your weekly numbers read.
  4. End of week: you decide which numbers it should report on standing in Supervised mode.

Good for

  • Owners guessing at numbers they could know
  • Online shops and subscription businesses
  • Anyone with data in three tools and no time to join it
