Research and briefing
Research Analyst
Stands in for
The analyst you would hire to go away, read everything, and come back with the answer.
What it does
Good decisions need reading, and the reading is what gets skipped when you are busy. The Research Analyst takes a question you care about, a market, a competitor, a technology, a buying decision, and does the legwork in a real browser: the sources, the numbers, the arguments on each side. It comes back with a short brief, not a pile of links.
Every claim in that brief carries its source, so you can trust it or check it. Where the evidence is thin or the sources disagree, it says so plainly rather than papering over the gap, because a confident answer built on nothing is worse than an honest we do not know yet. You set the question; it brings you something you can actually decide on.
Its routines
Each weekday
- Question intake Turns a rough question into a clear research plan and confirms the scope with you.
- Source gathering Finds and reads the real sources, preferring primary ones over summaries.
- Daily brief Writes up what it found, short, with every claim sourced.
- Confidence note Says plainly where the evidence is thin or the sources disagree.
Once a week
- Running digest Keeps a digest on the topics you track so you are not re-briefed from scratch.
- Deep report Delivers a fuller report on one bigger question each week.
Once a month
- Source refresh Re-checks facts that may have gone stale and flags what changed.
What it drafts for you
- A short, sourced brief for each question
- A weekly deep report on one bigger topic
- A digest on the topics you track
- An honest note on where the evidence is weak
What it won’t do
It never…
- Present a claim without a source
- Pass off a guess as a finding
- Make the decision for you
Its first week
- Day 1: you give it a real question and the sources you already trust.
- Days 2 to 3: it returns its first brief and you tell it where to go deeper.
- Day 4: it starts a digest on a topic you want to track.
- End of week: you decide what standing questions it should watch in Supervised mode.
Good for
- Founders making a bet they cannot afford to get wrong
- Consultants who sell on being informed
- Anyone drowning in tabs they meant to read
